Home side St. Cuthbert’s Mission dismantled the Canadian School of Arts Science by a 5-0 score line when the 5th edition of the Digicel Secondary Schools Football Championship continued on Sunday at St. Cuthbert’s Mission Community ground.
Rahaul Poonsammy broke the deadlock for the hosts with a 14th minute strike. The lead would then be doubled two minutes later as Cleyo Evans netted. The 22nd minute would witness St. Cuthbert’s Mission adding to their lead as Ronaldo O’Selmo scored through a penalty kick effort.
In complete control of the match at 3-0 going into the second period, St. Cuthbert’s Mission would further increase their advantage as Poonsammy netted his second minutes into the resumption.
The lopsided result would then be sealed in the 50th minute as Roberto Gapputh etched his name on the scorer’s sheet.
Action in the tournament continues today with eight matches at several venues.
