The Ministry of Education Department of Sport/National Sports Commission will conduct a table tennis summer camp under the theme “Teach Them Young” for beginners and semi intermediate players at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall and National Gymnasium commencing on July 13.
According to a press release, the two-hour long daily sessions are expected to start from 10:00hrs, Mondays to Fridays.
The camp ends August 28 and will be conducted by International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) level 1 and level 2 coaches.
The aim of the clinic is to help players grasp the basic skills needed to better prepare players for future competitions. At the camp’s conclusion, certificates of participation will be presented.
Students new to the game will be introduced to the basic techniques to help them develop the right habits for competition. The programme targets boys and girls between the ages of 6-18 and will introduce, teach and help orient them to the sport in a fun way, the release ended.
