Anthony D’Andrade will lead a strong Bermine/Police Combined team in Sunday’s Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) `Caricom Championship 2015’ 10 overs-a-aside fundraiser be played at the Albion Sports Complex ground.
D’Andrade has been named skipper of the 15 man squad which also includes Romario Shepherd, Keon Dejesus, Damion Vantull, Niall Smith, Norman Fredericks, Eugene Lafleur and others.
Eight top first division teams in Berbice will participate in the knockout competition with the final over 20 overs to be played under lights for a top prize of $80,000.00 and a trophy.
The runners-up will receive $40,000.00 and a trophy with the losing semi-finalists to receive $15,000.00 each. Man of the match in every game will be rewarded. Young Warriors/Rose Hall CC/Edinburgh Combined will tackle Upper Corentyne/Skeldon Combined in the opening. Game two will see Albion CC taking on Bermine/Police Combined.
Game 3 will see Port Mourant vs Bush Lot/D’Edward Combined while Game 4 will see Blairmont/West Berbice Combined vs Rose Hall Town. The preliminary games will be played in a festival format to create nonstop action. The winners of games 1 and 2 will play in the first seminal and the winners of games 3 and 4 in the other.
