Puran Brothers Disposal Inc says it wishes to inform the public that while it participated jointly with a partner in the bidding process for the construction and operations of the Haags Bosch Sanitary facility, it was later excluded from all aspects of the project.
In a press release, the company’s management said it participated in the bidding process by means of a joint venture arrangement, which was subsequently awarded the contract to build and operate the new facility. However, “While we were prepared to perform our role in the operations, we were regrettably excluded from all aspects of the project by the leading partner.”
Consequently, the company wishes to make it clear that it would not be held responsible for any work site accidents with resulting injuries or death, any negative environmental impact or any form of mismanagement pertaining to the operations of the landfill facility.
Puran Brothers has over 20 years of experience in solid waste management and a proven track record in managing and rehabilitating other landfills, the statement said. Therefore, the company is confident that it can operate the Haags Bosch facility within the confines of internationally accepted standards.
The statement comes amid acrimony between BK International and Minister of Communities, Ronald Bulkan over the management of the facility.
