The body of a 32-year-old Friendship Canal, Lower Pomeroon River man was pulled out on Saturday from the Pomeroon River after he fell overboard in the wee hours of the morning.
Dead is Rawle Boyan of Friendship Canal.
Speaking with Stabroek News, Arlene Boyan, the aunt of the dead man said that he and his brother went out on Friday night.
“Rawle and his brother went out on Friday night and they took some drinks and his brother said that he stand up in the boat to urinate and he fall over. His brother try to grab him but he gone done and he didn’t float.
“His brother gone home and say what happened and the community members formed a search party for him and Saturday night at around 6pm they grip in the river with hooks and find the body.”
The body of Boyan was taken to the Charity Mortuary where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
