The Indian Action Committee (IAC)—formerly the Indian Arrival Committee—has voiced concern over the “numerous incidents of crime” in many parts of Guyana.
According to a press release issued yesterday by the IAC, its concern is not confined just to the high number of major crimes but at the plethora of petty related incidents that continue to plague the country. As a result, it called for “mechanisms to mitigate the current spate of crime to be given utmost priority and urged the government to adapt a zero-tolerance approach in an effort to bring the perpetrators to justice.
