Dear Editor,
Many years ago with the advent of modern sign and poster technology, vehicles were allowed to use computerized number plates, minibus zone and name tags on commercial vehicles. This has proven to be cost effective, durable and lasts for many years. It can withstand the daily assault of our weather and washing with soap and other detergents. It is no secret that painting these signs with synthetic paint has outgrown its usefulness and only lasts about 6 months on vehicle. For years our police force has recognized this and we were allowed the computerized way. I went for fitness for my vehicle at the Leonora Police Station, WCD, and was told that I have to dig off the computerized stickers and put back synthetic sign painting. I am not sure if this is a countrywide happening, but it is disgusting and aggravating to say the least. When the world is moving forward, our police force is heading backward.
Yours faithfully,
