An East Canje cane harvester was brutally chopped and stabbed about his body early yesterday morning by a gang of men during a row over music.
Police have since arrested three men.
The victim, Michael Dorway called Mikey, 32, of Main Street, Cumberland, East Canje, Berbice is currently a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital, having sustained serious injuries.

According to information received, at around 1.30 am yesterday, Dorway, along with others, was at birthday party at AB Restaurant and Sports Bar in Canefield, Canje when he got involved in a disagreement over music. The men were reportedly imbibing alcohol and the argument escalated.
As a result a fight broke out and Dorway then tried to run away. However, a gang of men chased him down and brutally chopped and stabbed him about his body a few rods away from his house.
A report was made at the Reliance Police Station and officers who arrived on the scene found Dorway lying helplessly on the roadway. He was picked up and rushed to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was treated in the Accident and Emergency Unit before being transferred to the city facility around 5 am.
As investigations continue, police are hunting for others.
