The 6th Hainan Danzhou chess tournament concluded yesterday. The 16-year-old chess phenomenon Wei Yi played a game with Cuba’s number two player, Lazaro Batista Bruzon. Already the game has been referred to as the ‘Game of the Decade’. Indian Grandmaster Vishnu Prasanna said it’s “the longest combination I have ever seen.” Wei possesses a FIDE rating of 2724 and is the strongest junior in the world. Garry Kasparov was asked to comment on the game and he did so with one word: “Impressive.” Here is the game:
