Robb and Camp streets, one of the busiest junctions in the nation’s capital has now – at least for the time being – become a considerable eyesore. And while the days following the conflagration have fanned the flames of public speculation as to its possible origins, some have been wondering aloud just how long citizens are going to have to endure the unsightly pile of rubble that the fire has left behind.
Within a matter of hours of the conflagration, salvagers had descended on the site determined to retrieve anything that the inferno had spared. Subsequently, a small army of humans supported by bobcats and donkey carts had been pressed into service to remove the debris. This is ongoing.
