Police who turned up to investigate an accident at Happy Acres, East Coast Demerara on Thursday afternoon ended up making a large drug find in one of the vehicles.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum told Stabroek News that two cars were involved in an accident and the police were summoned. He said that when ranks arrived, during a search of one of the vehicles just over 10 kilogrammes or 23 pounds of marijuana were found.
He said that the driver of the vehicle sustained injuries during the accident and was taken to the hospital by police for medical attention.
