Investigations are being conducted into a fatal accident that occurred at about 0200h. today at Foulis Railway Embankment, ECD, and which resulted in the death of pedal cyclist Saturjeet Roopchand, 38 years, of Enmore, ECD.
Investigations have revealed that Roopchand allegedly rode out of an access road onto the main roadway and was struck down by a motor vehicle. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the GPHC.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
