Ideal Autos Inc has launched a Hyundai new passenger and commercial vehicles dealership which is set to open at the beginning of next month at Little Diamond, East Bank Demerara.

According to a press release, Ideal Autos has secured distribution rights for these vehicles from Hyundai Motor Company in Seoul, South Korea. It added that the first shipment of vehicles has already arrived here and will be on display at Ideal Autos premises, currently under construction, at Little Diamond.

The release stated that Ideal Autos was formed by a group of local and foreign investors, some of whom are from the Diaspora. They include Peter and Paul Rippon of Antigua; R L Singh of Guyana; Heralall Nandlal of Canada and Bhaktraj Singh of Canada.

It plans to soon include a range of agricultural machinery, a state-of-the-art quick service centre for oil and brake changes, a retail and distribution service for high-quality motor oils and lubricants and heavy duty trucking, construction, mining and farm equipment.

The release said Ideal’s CEO Peter Rippon has 35 years of experience in the automotive, trucking and farm equipment sectors. It quoted him as saying, “We are pleased to offer the Guyanese people new Hyundai vehicles with comprehensive 3-year warranty at prices that are competitive to the prices of reconditioned vehicles…” Noting that reconditioned vehicles are sold here without warranty, he added that Guyanese will see huge economic benefits in buying new vehicles. Peter Rippon is a British-trained mechanical engineer and was the first person to introduce Hyundai vehicles in Caricom.

The release also quoted Nandlal as saying, “Our decision to make this investment was accelerated by government’s stated intention to rationalize the duty and taxes on new vehicles. We would like to see more Guyanese drive new vehicles … There will be significant benefits to the environment from the use of new vehicles…”

Meanwhile, according to the release, Singh said he was “happy to be back in Guyana as an investor…” He added that he was looking to become involved in other projects that will benefit Guyanese.

Meantime, Ideal Autos is looking for licensed mechanics, sales persons and administrative staff, the release said and qualified persons can send resumes to jobs@idealgroupgy.com or Idea Autos Inc 252 South Road, Bourda.
