Dear Editor,
I worked dedicatedly at Albion/Port Mourant sugar estate for 37 years, but am unable to receive my rightful NIS old age pension because the Scheme calculated my pension on the basis of 953 contributions rather than 1,731 contributions. Thus, my pension is being short-paid by 15 per cent from May, 2013, when I attained the age of 60.
I am assured by the Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union that feverish representation has been made to the Scheme to correct my pension rate in keeping with the Scheme’s contributions statement which has verified that 1,731 contributions were made on my behalf during my working life to the Scheme.
Yours faithfully,
Federick Babulall
