National 400m record holder Winston George qualified for tonight’s 400m final at the ongoing Pan American Games in Canada.
George, finished fifth in his semi-final race yesterday after clocking a pedestrian 46.39s but nevertheless qualified for the finale scheduled for 19:20hrs.
Luguelin Santos of the Dominican Republic won the semi-final George competed in in 45.72s.
As customary, the top three in each semi-final along with the two fastest made it through to tonight’s final.
George’s chances of medaling is slim but he is the only local athlete to make it past the qualifying rounds so far at the July 10-26 Games.
