The post-mortem examination of the Mocha Arcadia man, who died at the hospital after being shot in his thigh two weeks ago, which was scheduled for yesterday has been postponed to tomorrow.
The brother of Ryan Clementson, Kiko Gorrick told Stabroek News yesterday that they made a request for a subpoena at the police station to have the medical report and the doctor who operated on him before he died present at the post-mortem examination. His relatives were distraught after he had died last Friday from being shot several times to his thigh.
Clementson, 27, of Lot 317 Mocha Arcadia, East Bank Demerara and Ayodella Solomon, 32, of 13 ‘C’ Tucville, were in the vicinity of the Turning Point Snackette in Tucville when they were shot. Stabroek News had reported that Solomon was walking to his Tucville home when he stopped at the snackette to greet his friend and heard a loud bang. He subsequently fell to the ground and heard several more gunshots. Solomon was subsequently taken to the hospital and Clementson was found sometime later under a nearby bridge by the police and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was admitted and treated for a gunshot wound to his thigh. After a few weeks of being treated and undergoing surgery at the hospital, Clementson had died from a cardiac arrest.
Speaking with Stabroek News on Sunday, Clementson’s mother Rosanna Gorrick explained that she had spoken to her son just hours before he had died. She said he had complained to her, other relatives, and even the nurses that he had a high temperature, cold, and high blood pressure. The family questioned why the doctor would go ahead with the surgery given those symptoms. The family also claimed that the last surgery that was scheduled and carried out on him was not authorized by any family members as they had no knowledge of it.
Additionally, the police had issued a wanted bulletin for Edward Skeete called ‘Pretty Boy’ on Saturday for questioning in relation to the murder of Clementson. Skeete is known to the police as he had been previously charged with murder in 2011. He was accused of the murder of Industry businessman Bedi Ramjeiwan who was shot on April 27, 2011 after being beaten in the head with a helmet. Skeete was found not guilty earlier in the year by a 12-member jury.
