Two weeks after being charged with carrying out a $17 million burglary, Nabadamingi Gobin found himself back in court accused of murder.
Gobin was charged yesterday with murdering Mocha Arcadia resident Ryan Clementson between July 14 and July 24, 2015. He was the second man to be charged with the murder, following the arraignment of Edward Skeete for the same crime last Friday.
When Gobin appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan, he was not required to enter a plea to the charge.
Clementson and Ayodella Solomon, 32, of 13 ‘C’ Tucville, were in the vicinity of the Turning Point Snackette in Tucville when they were shot on July 14.
Clementson was subsequently admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries after undergoing a number of surgeries.
Gobin had appeared before Magistrate McLennan almost two weeks before to answer a charge that he allegedly broke and entered the home of James Samuels and stole a quantity of articles, including several guns and varying rounds of live ammunition, a quantity of gold and diamonds, two metal safes, and US$40,000, amounting to a total of $17, 280,000. He had also been charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm, which matched one of the guns stolen from Samuels.
Gobin was remanded to prison until August 14, when the matter will be heard again.
For his part, Skeete, called ‘Pretty Boy,’ 28, of Lot 309 Independence Bou-levard, was only released months earlier after being freed of another murder charge.
Skeete was accused of the murder of Industry businessman Bedi Ramjeiwan, who was shot on April 27, 2011 after being beaten severely with a helmet. Ramjeiwan had been returning home in his car when he was confronted by two men along Crown Dam, Industry, East Coast Demerara. However, in February this year, Skeete was found not guilty by a 12-member jury. He too was remanded to prison and is due to make his next court appearance on August 14.
