National 400m record holder, Winston George and a female track and field athlete yet to be named will represent Guyana at the August 22-30 IAAF World Championships in China.
This is according to president of the Athletic Association of Guyana (AAG), Aubrey Hutson.
Hutson told this publication yesterday that US-based athletes Brenessa Thompson and Janea McCammon, are among the shortlist of names that will team with George to represent the Golden Arrowhead at the Championships which will be held at the National Stadium in Beijing.
The AAG head further disclosed that the touring entourage will be named this week.
Note: McCammon and George represented Guyana at the just-concluded Pan American Games in Canada. George placed sixth in the final of the quarter mile event while McCammon was knocked out during the qualifying rounds.
