A 20-year-old man was yesterday remanded to prison after being charged with armed robbery.
Peter George of 103 ‘A’ Meadowbrook Gardens, Georgetown was accused of robbing Yolanda Garraway at gunpoint of $60,000 on August 1, in East Ruimveldt. It was stated that the stolen money was the property of Christopher John.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to George’s bail due to the serious nature of the charge brought against him and highlighted the defendant’s use of a firearm during said robbery.
Magistrate Ann McLennan then remanded the accused to prison and the matter was adjourned to August 20.
