The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) today hosted an appreciation ceremony for the nurses at the Paediatric Ward who cared for the late Joshua Moonsammy particularly nurse Angela Edwards.
A release from the hospital said that during his period at the hospital the nurse forged a bond with the little boy, which resulted in her taking special care of him. She would often do his laundry and even took him to her home to spend quality time. During the Christmas season, Edwards also took him to visit Santa Claus with her family and on his birthdays took him out for special treats.
She recalled that their last outing was Easter Day when she took him to fly kites with her family. The nurse said she was hoping to celebrate the little boy’s birthday with him this year in December, when he would have turned six; unfortunately this was not to be.
