With the management staff opting to rest senior players Aroydy Branford and Andrew Stewart for the encounter, Ramsammy found the back of the net, slotting past the custodian after latching onto an initial shot from Keon McKenzie that was deflected into his path.

McKenzie eventually sealed the win for Guyana three minutes into the third quarter after collecting a pass from Deheron Wilkinson. Guyana will now lock horns with Queens Park today (Thursday) in their final match of the round robin stage of the tourney.

This tournament is the second phase of the team’s preparations for the 2016 Pan American junior championships which is slated to be hosted in Toronto, Canada. The resulting semi-finals and final of the Players Tournament is slated for Friday and Saturday correspondingly.

Up to press time, Guyana was in action against Malvern Sports Club who had defeated them in their earlier matchup on the opening night of the event by a 5-3 score line.
