The police are still seeking the suspect in the brutal killing of 77-year-old Danrasie ‘Carmen’ Ganesh, who was bludgeoned and strangled at the Montrose house for which she was the caretaker.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum yesterday said a man that police apprehended on Tuesday remains in custody as investigators are working on DNA tests and fingerprint samples. He added that they are exploring every possible means in hopes of identifying the suspect.
Ganesh was killed last Saturday in an attack which lasted for over an hour. The murder was caught on surveillance cameras installed at the exterior and interior of the house and police have since released a still photo of the suspect in hopes of identifying him.
Relatives and friends paid final tributes to Ganesh yesterday.
