The alleged theft of over $1.2M in steel pipes from the Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) landed two men, including a driver who had been hired by the company, in front of a city court yesterday.
Driver Curtis Reid and contractor Royston Peters appeared before city magistrate Ann McLennan on a joint charge that they stole 172 15’ 2” steel pipes, worth $1,204,000 and property of GWI, in Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, between July 13th and August 3rd.
Both men pleaded not guilty to the charge.
