The suspect in the murder of Davonan Sookram will be making his first court appearance today after police yesterday received legal advice, according to Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum.
According to a police press release, Sookram a 37-year-old was reported missing from his Philadelphia, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) home since July 27 and was said to be in the company of the ex-policeman.
His decomposing body was found along the access road at Ruby, EBE by a group of fishermen passing the area with a gunshot to the head. The gruesome discovery was made around 12 noon last Friday.
Shortly after the find, police arrested the ex-policeman, who has since confessed to his involvement in the crime.
Stabroek News has since been told that police have information as it pertains to the motive for the killing.
