The four athletes along with the other winners from the different categories at last month’s Senior Bodybuilding Championships were shortlisted yesterday by the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GBBFF) to represent Guyana at the event which will be staged from September 24-27.

President of the federation Keavon Bess told this publication yesterday that airfare, meals and accommodation per athlete will be in the neighbourhood of $350,000. He highlighted that airfare alone will cost $200,000 for each athlete and said that the GBBFF will formally approach corporate Guyana from tomorrow to help offset expenses for the sojourn.

“A reasonable budget to cover an athlete is at least $350,000 and I would be glad if the federation can be in a position to cover the athletes’ hotel and meals,” Bess said. “If we should receive funds, we would spread it out an even fashion,” he added.
