Government has allocated $11 million for trade unions to assist with training, Minister of Finance Winston Jordan disclosed in his presentation of the 2015 Budget yesterday.
“Mr. Speaker, in an effort to strengthen the capacity of our trade unions to better represent the rights of workers, we have allocated a sum of $11 million. This amount is intended to augment approved in-country training programmes designed to enhance the performance of public servants, in an effort to ensure that the public service maintains a professional and productive work ethic in a constantly changing world,” he told the National Assembly which was without any representatives of the opposition PPP.
