Ron Forde, called ‘Andel’, one of the two suspects in the murder of sex worker Noel Wilson Luthers, called Nephi, was arrested on Sunday evening by police ranks at Linden.
Luthers, 20, of Lot ZZ d’Urban Street, Wortmanville, was shot dead on July 22nd after he was confronted by two men at Quamina and Carmichael streets.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum yesterday informed Stabroek News that the police on Sunday evening received information and went to Linden, where they arrested Forde. He also confirmed that Ron Forde was bought to Georgetown and was up to late yesterday afternoon being questioned by ranks at the Criminal Investi-gation Department (CID) headquarters.
The police issued wanted bulletins over two weeks ago after the two men were identified from surveillance footage provided to the police. The other suspect, Kanand Ojha, remains on the run.
However, determined to receive justice, Joy Noel, the dead man mother said yesterday that after continuously visiting the police station she made an appointment to meet with the Crime Chief since she needs to know what’s happening with the matters. The woman noted that she will be meeting the Crime Chief today and as a result refused to comment further on the matter.
There have been conflicting accounts of what led to the fatal shooting of Luthers. It was initially reported that Luthers was shot after an argument with a client after the man demanded that his money be returned to him as he wasn’t pleased with the services offered.
It has also been reported that he may have been shot by the men due to a case of mistaken identity.
