(Barbados Nation) The Barbados government has been left with a more than Bds$800 000 bill from its hosting of the three-day Caricom Heads of Government meeting last month.
That disclosure was made last night by Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, who went before the House of Assembly seeking approval of Bds$650 000 to supplement the 2015-2016 Estimates.
Comparatively, he said the hosting of a similar Caricom conference back in 2007 cost the administration over Bds$917, 000.
All but two Caricom leaders attended the July 2 to 4 meeting at the Hilton Barbados Resort.
