PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC- Olympic javelin gold medalist Keshorn Walcott and defending 400 metres hurdles champion Jehue Gordon are among 21 athletes selected to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the World Championships in Beijing, China later this month.
Gordon is also part of the 4×400 m squad while Walcott recently added the Pan Am title to his list of accomplishments.
Keston Bledman will lead the charge for T&T in the men’s 100m dash after triple Olympic silver medallist Richard Thompson was ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury.
T&T is expected to have strong representation in the men’s 400m with four quarter milers posting sub 45 secs. times this season-Machel Cedenio , Deon Lendore , Lalonde Gordon and Renny Quow,
Kelly-Ann Baptiste and Michelle-Lee Ahye will lead T&T’s campaign in the women’s 100m.
Quadruple Olympic medallist Ato Boldon will be part of the T&T coaching staff in Beijing.
