The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) has officially shortlisted their 14-member squad that will represent the country at the Caribbean Squash Association Championships slated to be held in the Cayman Islands from August 17th-23rd.
Guyana are the titleholders in both the male and female team divisions and will be attempting to successfully defend their titles as well as aim to clinch the overall team accolade which they last secured in 2013.
However, they will have to do without the services of world number 24th ranked Nicolette Fernandes as well as national men’s champion Alex Arjoon and former u-19 titleholder Kristian Jeffrey who are all unavailable.
On the female side, the squad reads, Ashley Khalil, Mary Fung-A-Fat, Ashley DeGroot, Akeila Wiltshire, Larissa Wiltshire and Victoria Arjoon while the men’s side will consist of Sunil Seth, Richard Chin, Jason Ray Khalil, Nyron Joseph and Nicholas Narain.
In the veterans section, Alwyn Callender, Ramon Chan-A-Sue and Zanita Disalle will be the representatives. Tasked with the managerial duties will be Chan-A-Sue.
