Over two weeks after a suspect was captured on camera battering 77-year-old Danrasie ‘Carmen’ Ganesh to death, he is yet to be apprehended by police.
Two persons were held by police but subsequently released after it was determined that they were not the persons on the footage.
Other villagers in Montrose where Ganesh was murdered had also came forward alleging that one of the man had recently carried out robberies in the area just before the attack on Ganesh.
Ganesh was beaten to death in the two-storey building for which she had been the caretaker for many years.
After spending just over an hour in the house, the killer only left with the jewellery Ganesh was wearing. However, other valuables were left intact, leading the woman’s family to believe that robbery was not the primary motive behind her murder.
The killer, who was armed with a spanner, did not pay attention to the surveillance cameras, which captured every blow he dealt to the woman as all the cameras and monitors were in place.
