Two men were yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Ann McLennan after being charged with murder.
Quacy Walker, 24, and Rayburn Anthony Shivander, 26, were jointly charged with the murder of Michael Dillon, which took place between April 26th and April 27th, 2015, at Kimbia Creek, Upper Berbice River.
However, no additional particulars of the murder were presented to the court.
Representing Walker, attorney Bernard Da Silva noted that his client had one previous conviction for an offence of an unrelated nature. Additionally, Da Silva made an application seeking the court’s permission to have his client receive medical attention at a private health institution as he had been complaining of internal pain. He noted that the family of the young man is prepared to foot the medical bill.
Both men were remanded to jail and are expected to make their next court appearance at the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court on September 18.
