A man is now nursing a gunshot wound to his left foot after he was attacked by armed bandits in the city during the wee hours of yesterday morning.
According to a police statement, at about 2:05 AM yesterday Ravindra Singh, 28, of Grove, East Bank Demerara, was at Sheriff Street, Georgetown, when he was held up by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm. Singh was shot to his left foot as the perpetrators took away a gold chain and escaped.
Singh has been admitted at a city hospital for medical treatment.
