A quick response by the police has led to the arrest of one of three men who attacked and robbed two others while they were repairing a vehicle at Mandela Avenue, Georgetown yesterday morning.
In a press release, the police said Vijay Pitamber of Enmore, East Coast Demerara (ECD) and Ajay Sewdat of Foulis, ECD, were repairing a car at around 1:30am on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, when they were held up by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The perpetrators took away $28,000 and two cell phones and made good their escape.
However, the release further stated that the police responded to the report and apprehended one of the suspects in the area. He is in police custody assisting with investigations.
