Arokium should be commemorated

Dear Editor,

It is with some sadness that I learned of the death of my former Sacred Heart teacher Francis Arokium in Canada this week. He taught me ‒ and many others including Charles Ramson, later to be AG ‒ brilliantly in that eyrie of a classroom at the top of the cathedral.

His lessons were full of knowledge and not a little discipline too ‒ my hand still hurts from the licks! All of us who were given a brilliant intellectual start in life by ‘Mr Arokium’ should find a significant way to commemorate him and his work in Guyana.

Yours faithfully,
John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
