It is with great pleasure I express my congratulations to the students of the Hindu College, Cove and John, ECD, who sat the May/June CSEC examinations, and to all the hard-working and dedicated teachers and cooperative parents. The Hindu College has found itself on the national stage after producing students who did exceptionally well in their performance at the examinations this year with a 95% pass rate.
The top student of the Hindu College copped a position among the top forty-five students in the country, which is quite remarkable. The top student, Cristen Singh, achieved passes in thirteen CSEC subjects with eleven grade ones and two grade twos. The top five students of the Hindu College have found themselves among the top 172 students in Guyana with eight grade ones and over; these students are Cristen Singh, Lelouttie Jagrup, Mintranie Singh, Beena Williams and Surinder Motilal.
Success like this can only emerge out of intense sacrifice and dedicated efforts by teachers, parents and students. The teachers at the Hindu College work beyond the call of duty to manufacture these human dynamos, so these students can make this world a better home. Congratulations once again to the hard-working teachers of the Hindu College.
As a parent of one of the students among the top five, I have a fairly good idea of what quality of work students must do to harness such a success. Studying late into the night and concentration on what is taught are the major ingredients for the students to reach this milestone.
The Hindu College is not only well known for quality academics but for its firmness in discipline and its deliverance of diverse religious and moral education. The school is also invloved in national debates, sports and even community services. The institution therefore deserves resounding praise for its magnificent performance at the May/June CSEC 2015 examinations.
It’s worthy to note that this is not the only year that the results were good; in 2013 the pass rate was 95%, and in 2014, 92%.
I also take this opportunity to encourage the general public to support such institutions which can revive our society with vibrant moral values that are terribly lacking in our world today.
