Businessman Pierre Saint-Arroman who served as Honorary Consul of France to Guyana from 1991 has passed away at the age of 69.
A notice from the French consulate here said that Saint-Arroman died in Paris, France after an illness.
It said that he had moved to Guyana in 1983 where he founded Amazon Caribbean Guyana Ltd, which engaged in the harvesting of heart of palm for export. The notice said that Saint-Arroman also founded Ermina Guyana Inc. and International Standard Systems Inc.
The notice said that he served as Honorary Consul of France from August 12th, 1991 to 22nd August this year when he passed away.
Condolences will be received at the French consulate up to Friday, September 4th from 8 am to midday and 1 pm to 4 pm.
