West Demerara club Foxy Ladies Football Club will stage its third annual Football Championship today at the Tucville ground with four fixtures.
The event which is slated to feature eight teams from various parts of the country, will be played over eight days in an initial group stage format. Following the conclusion of the group stage, the top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout round.
Group A will comprise of Little Diva Flames FC (Georgetown), Foxy Ladies (West Demerara), New Amsterdam (NA) Warriors FC (East Berbice) and the Guyana Defence Force (Georgetown) while group-B comprises Eagles United FC (Georgetown), West Side Conquerors (West Berbice), Demerara Queens (Linden) and Kuru-Kuru FC (East Bank of Demerara).
In the opening fixture, Foxy Ladies will oppose GDF from 14:00hrs while Little Divas will face off with NA Warriors in the second fixture from 16:00hrs. The third encounter will then pit Kuru-Kuru FC against West Side Conquerors at 18:00hrs while Eagles United and Demerara Queens will face off at 20:00hrs.
The action will then continue on Sunday at the same venue with another four fixtures. In the opening match at 14:00hrs, Eagles United will oppose Kuru-Kuru FC whilst at 16:00hrs Demerara Queens will tackle West Side Conquerors in the second fixture.
In the third engagement, NA Warriors will lock horns with GDF at 18:00hrs while Foxy Ladies and Little Divas will do battle from 20:00hrs in the final fixture.
