A great day of boxing is in store.
This is according to Technical Director of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA), Terrence Poole referring to the Pepsi/Michael Parris U-16 Boxing Championships which will be staged today at the Andrew ‘Sixhead’ Lewis Gym.
“In the nursery over the years we tend to spot lot of talent and potential and I expect to do the same Saturday so an entertaining day of boxing should be on the cards,” Poole said yesterday.
Poole intimated that all systems are in place for the event which will attract “about 40 to 50 boxers.”
Come and see the young boxers on the brink of success in with around 25 exciting bouts scheduled.
The pugilists who will be competing for trophies and medals, will come from the stables such as the Carryl Boxing Gym, Essequibo Boxing Gym, Forgotten Youth Foundation, GDF, Republican, Pocket Rocket Gym, Rose Hall Jammers, the New Opportunity Corps and the Young Achievers Gym.
Weigh-in starts at 10:00hrs while the event will commence at 13:00hrs.
