Bel Air Rubis emerged victorious over the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) Under-13, in the first ever day/night feature Twenty20 cricket match played at the DCC ground, Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown.
Last Tuesday, Bel Air Rubis’ U13 side defeated Gandhi Youth Organization (GYO) while on Wednesday they defeated Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC, Bourda).
Their victory over DCC last Friday was the third achieved against an established club side.
DCC won the toss and elected to bat and made 73 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs, with Daniel Mootoo (18) and Kareem Whitney (15), being the only two batsmen to reach double figures while extras accounted for a healthy 21 runs.
Bowling for Bel Air Rubis, Shankar Sahadeo picked up 1-10 from two overs, Rudranauth Kisoon 1-17 off 4 overs while there were two run-outs and one retired out for Bel Air Rubis who ended on 74 runs, losing just 4 wickets in 17.4 overs.
Omari Lallbachan (19) and Andrew Samaroo (20 not out) were the two top batsmen while there were 23 extras.
Bowling for DCC, Inderjeet Nanan took 1-9, Elijah Bobb 2-8 and Daniel Mootoo 1-18.
The two teams will clash again under lights on September 19th, starting at 19:00hrs.
