Thirty-year-old Mohamed Oosman, a long-time employee of the Guyana Sugar Corporation, died last evening after a bell loader he was operating fell into a canal at Rose Hall Estate, East Berbice.
Stabroek New has learnt that Oosman of Canefield Settlement, East Canje, Berbice was crossing a makeshift bridge from one field to another when the boards of the bridge loosened and the bell loader fell overboard with Oosman.
Oosman was removed from the canal and taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
He leaves to mourn his parents, two siblings Alim and Shafeah, wife Shano and two children.
