Trophy Stall became the latest sponsor to officially come on board with the inaugural Petra Organization coordinated GT Beer Futsal Championship, donating the trophies for the top four finishers yesterday at a simple presentation ceremony.
Petra Organization co-director and tourney coordinator Troy Mendonca thanked the company for their continued support, declaring that the two entities have enjoyed a prosperous relationship that existed for several years.
The knockout round of the event will commence on Sunday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with the quarterfinal round. In the opening fixture at 19:00hrs, Sophia will oppose Bent Street while West Back Road and West Front Road-Gold is Money will battle at 19:45hrs.
In the third fixture, Sparta Boss will lock horns with Kitty Weavers at 21:00hrs while the final match of the night will pit Albouystown against Festival City from 21:45hrs. Winner of the event will collect $500,000 and trophy while the second, third and fourth place finishers will collect $250,000, $125,000 and $75,000 and the correspondingly accolade. Other sponsor of the event is the National Milling Company (NAMILCO) of Guyana.
