A Kaneville man was yesterday remanded to prison until the commencement of his trial after he appeared before a city court on an attempted murder charge.
Rocky Lex, 30, of Grove Squatting Area, Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, was charged with wounding Sheik Rahaman on September 6 in the Cuyuni riverine area with the intent to murder him.
Lex was not required to plead to the charge.
Prosecutor Deniro Jones informed the court that the complainant was not present for the matter as he was still recovering from his injuries.
Magistrate Ann McLennan transferred the case to the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court and ordered that Lex be remanded until his next court date, which is set for September 21.
