A North East La Penitence man was shot to his foot early Tuesday morning during a home invasion.
Andrew Lee, 56, was shot when four men, two of whom were armed with handguns, broke into his home and held him at gunpoint, according to a Guyana Police Force statement.
During the robbery, which occurred around 2:30am, police said Lee was shot to his right foot. The bandits reportedly made off with a television set and an iPod, while Lee was admitted to a hospital.
However, by Tuesday afternoon he was released after he self-discharged.
