Cabinet on Tuesday gave the green light for a number of public servants to attend training and conferences which are expected to help them to better execute their jobs, Minister of Governance Raphael Trotman said yesterday.
According to Minister Trotman, who was addressing members of the media at a post-cabinet press briefing, two members of the Civil Defence Commission (CDC) will participate in the relief supply tracking system training organised by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) to be held in Barbados.
Cabinet also approved Guyana’s participation at a seminar on global aviation partnership and remission reduction to be held in Toronto, Canada. The seminar is expected to focus on aircraft, next generation air navigation, green operations, carbon market, and renewable energy among others.
It is said to be a high-level forum to provide guidance on policy development and it is envisaged that Guyana will benefit significantly.
Those to attend are three employees from the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority.
Meanwhile, Post Mistress General Karen Brown will participate in the 18th annual Carib-bean postal unit conference to be held in the British Virgin Islands. All the conferences will be held this month.
