Residents on the West Coast Berbice were the beneficiaries of a charity drive hosted by the Dhar-mic Naujawaan (DNJ), the central youth arm of the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha.
The organisation stated in a press release, that on September 12, over 200 persons of which 100 were children received food hampers, school bags and supplies in addition to toys, books and clothing. Residents also benefited from a medical outreach which was hosted by the DNJ’s parent body the same day.
The DNJ expressed its heartfelt gratitude for the support it received from various members of the community, private individuals and groups who generously donated supplies for the drive.
The organisation said it is preparing host another charity drive in November and is inviting members of the public to contribute to this cause. Details on how persons can assist will be posted on its Facebook page: Dharmic Naujawaam.
