Spin twins Devendra Bishoo and Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai scripted an easy win for Albion who ran roughshod over Police by seven wickets in their semi-final of the 2015 Berbice Cricket Board (BCB)/Berbice River Bridge 50 overs knock-out tournament.
Bishoo, who continues to fine tune his craft ahead of next month’s Sri Lanka tour with the West Indies, bagged 4-25 while the younger Motie-Kanhai – a former West Indies U19 player – was the chief tormentor of the lawmen as he ended with 5-19 from 10 overs.
The pair of spinners exhibited performances which led to the cops being bundled out for 88 in 27 overs, despite an opening stand of 40 between openers Norwayne Fredericks (29) and Brentnol Wolford (11).
Albion lost National U17 Vice-captain and opener Adrian Sukhwa for 7 with the score on 9. Another national youth players at the U19 level, Balchand Baldeo followed for 12, as did national wicket-keeper keeper/batsman Anthony Bramble.
Former Berbice U19 middle-order order batsman David Latchaya (24*) joined forces with Bishoo who showed off his batting prowess with an unbeaten 36 as Albion cruised to 91-3.
The final is slated for Sunday.
