A reported gang fight among inmates last night at the Camp Street Prison resulted in an inmate being stabbed and a fire being lit at the facility.
The bloodied prisoner was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) around 10pm last evening by a fire truck, while firefighters managed to quickly extinguish the fire.
Relatives of the injured prisoner, who was reportedly stabbed several times about his body, gathered at the hospital. “Oh God protect him! Why Jesus?” a distressed relative repeatedly shouted. In photo is the injured prisoner when he arrived at the hospital. He was said to be in a stable condition up to press time.
