In memory of the late West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) and Uitvlugt FC President Sydroy Nedd, the Mayor’s Cup Organizing Committee will stage a seven-a-side Inter-Ward tournament today.
The tournament will be held at the Den Amstel ground and the opening fixture at 14:00hrs will pit Tuschen against Grove while at 14:30hrs, Sara Lodge will oppose Agricola. In the third fixture, Goed Fortuin will oppose Mocha from 15:00hrs while Stewartville will tackle Sophia in the fourth fixture from 15:30hrs.
The fifth showdown will be between Crane and Wales from 16:00hrs whilst Pouderoyen and DeKenderen will faceoff at 16:30hrs in the sixth showdown. In the final two matchups, Uitvlugt will oppose Bagotville from 17:00hrs while Den Amstel will tackle Kuru-Kururu from 17:30hrs.
Upon the conclusion of the round of 16 stage, the quarter-final, semi-final and final will be played September 24th at the same venue.
