Oswald Junior Yaw, who allegedly killed Herstelling block maker Nathan Andrew Persaud based on a verbal contract with Persaud’s wife Beverly, was today remanded to prison after appearing before a city court to answer to a murder charge.
It is alleged that on September 10 at Herstelling, East Bank Demerara Yaw, 21, of East Ruimveldt Back Circle, murdered Persaud. Yaw was allegedly implicated in the crime by Beverly, who reportedly told police that she had promised to pay him to murder her estranged husband, with whom she was involved in a property dispute.
Yaw was remanded to prison by Magistrate Ann McLennan, where he will remain until his next court date on October 13.
